Ángel David Revilla Lenoci (born July 16, 1982), better known as DrossRotzank or simply Dross, is a Venezuelan YouTuber and writer who currently resides in Buenos Aires, Argentina since 2005.[4]

Early life[]

Ángel David Revilla Lenoci was born on July 16, 1982[5] in Caracas, Venezuela. His father was an airplane pilot and his mother was a gastronomy-oriented businesswoman.[6] Ángel David Revilla, whose ancestry comes from Italy, Spain,[6] and United States,[7] he studied at Santa Maria University, Venezuela where he graduated from Social Communication in 2007. In addition, he worked as a journalist for a medical magazine.[6]

Revilla started writing game reviews for websites like MeriStation or GameFAQs, but quickly moved to creating blog content at El Diario de Dross (The Diary of Dross), created in 1998. Revilla made some posts on the Meristation and Vandal forums under the name "Dross", a username based on the then wrestler Drozdov (whom Revilla mistakenly refers to as «Warren Droz»), but which was misspelled with two "s".[1]

I remembered a WWE wrestler (at that time the WWF) named Warren Droz and I was wrong and I put it with two "s" and the rest is history.

In 2007, he moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he currently resides.[1] At first he was dedicated to uploading gameplays of different video games such as I Wanna Be the Guy. However, Dross had some videos that were older that in the end he decided to delete, among them is one that was re-uploaded by user Lucas Pedraza in which he calls a hacker.[9] Her look consisted of wearing long hair, dark glasses and a straw hat with a leopard print.[10] In mid-2013, he turned to horror videos.[11] In 2015, Dross participated in a project called "Dross Dark Tales of Terror", where he told contemporary horror stories.[1]

Revilla currently runs two additional YouTube channels: Los Vlogs de Dross (Dross's Vlogs) and Mi Querido Mussolini (My Dear Mussolini), in which he uploads videos of his pet fish, Mussolini,[6] whose name comes from the Italian dictator Benito Mussolini. In March 2017, Dross was invited to the "La Mole Comic Con" event, which took place at the World Trade Center in Mexico City and which was dedicated to pop culture and Japanese culture. He participated in three meet & greet sessions, on the 17th, 18th and 19th of March.[12] In 2018, his work as a digital content creator and social media influencer was recognized when he won a Martin Fierro Award.[13] In December 2021, the Martín Fierro Digital Award awarded him as Best YouTuber.[14][15][16]
