- Rudra Mahalaya Temple in Siddhpur, India, completed.
- Church of St Mary and St David, Kilpeck, and first stone Church of St John the Evangelist, Shobdon, both by members of the Herefordshire School in England, built.
- Great church of Cîteaux Abbey begun.
