The 1975 Lamar Cardinals football team represented Lamar University in the 1975 NCAA Division I football season as a member of the Southland Conference. The Cardinals played their home games at Cardinal Stadium now named Provost Umphrey Stadium in Beaumont, Texas. Lamar finished the 1975 season with a 1–10 overall record and a 1–4 conference record. The 1975 season was coach Vernon Glass's final season as the Cardinals' head football coach. Playing the Southern Miss Golden Eagles in the Superdome and the Houston Cougars in the Astrodome, the Cardinals became "...the first collegiate team to play games in two domed stadiums in the same season".[1]

The Cardinals have played at the Astrodome three times. In 1975, Lamar played Houston, losing 21-3. The Cardinals played Southern Mississippi in New Orleans at the Super Dome that year, becoming the first collegiate team to play games in two domed stadium in the same season.
