The 1979 Air Force Falcons football team represented the United States Air Force Academy in the 1979 NCAA Division I-A football season, for the last time as a Division I-A Independent. They were led by first–year head coach Ken Hatfield. The Falcons played their home games at Falcon Stadium in Colorado Springs, Colorado. They were outscored by their opponents 127–253; the Falcons lost their first eight games, but finished by winning two of their last three, finishing 2–9.
