American college football season
The 1980 Illinois State Redbirds football team represented Illinois State University during the 1980 NCAA Division I-A football season as an independent. The team was led by fourth-year head coach Charlie Cowdrey and played their home games at Hancock Stadium in Normal, Illinois. The Redbirds finished the season with a 4–7 record.[1]
