1st Deep Recce Strike Brigade Combat Team
The 1st Deep Recce Strike Brigade Combat Team is a formation of the British Army due to form by late 2022, as part of the Future Soldier Programme which in turn arose from resulting from the Integrated Review of Security, Defence, Development and Foreign Policy ("Global Britain in a Competitive Age") published in March 2021.[1]
Structure[]
The structure of the brigade will be as follows:[1]
- Headquarters, 1st Deep Recce Strike Brigade Combat Team
- Household Cavalry Regiment, at Powle Lines, Bulford Camp[2][3] (Armoured Cavalry)
- The Queen's Dragoon Guards, at Caerwent Barracks, Caerwent (Light Cavalry)[4][5]
- The Royal Lancers (Queen Elizabeth's Own), at Tidworth Camp (Armoured Cavalry)[6]
- The Royal Yeomanry (Army Reserve), in Leicester (Light Cavalry)[7][8]
- 1st Regiment Royal Horse Artillery, at Assaye Barracks, Tidworth Camp to gain an Ajax tactical group battery[9][10] [11]
- 3rd Regiment Royal Horse Artillery, at Albemarle Barracks, Stamfordham[12][13] to re-role to MLRS[14]
- 5th Regiment, Royal Artillery, at Marne Barracks, Catterick Garrison (Surveillance & Target Acquisition)
- 19th Regiment Royal Artillery,[15] at Larkhill Garrison
- 26th Regiment Royal Artillery, at Purvis Lines, Larkhill Garrison with M270 [16]
- 101st (Northumbrian) Regiment, Royal Artillery, at Napier Armoury, Gateshead[17][18] will provide a formed battery to each of 3 RHA and 26 Regt RA [19]
- 104th Regiment, Royal Artillery, at Raglan Barracks, Newport[20][21] will provide individual reinforcements to 1 RHA and 19 Regt RA.[22]
- 6th Armoured Close Support Battalion, Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, at Delhi Barracks, Tidworth Camp
