200 Meters (Arabic: 200 متر‎) is a 2020 feature film by Palestinian director , which premiered at the 77th Venice International Film Festival in September 2020 where it won the BNL People's Choice Audience Award as part of the Venice Days competition.[1][2] It was selected as the Jordanian entry for the Best International Feature Film at the 93rd Academy Awards, but it was not nominated.[3] It won the ICFT UNESCO Gandhi Medal at 51st International Film Festival of India in January 2021.[4]

Plot[]

In the Palestinian city of Tulkarm, the film revolves around a family who is separated by the Israeli wall,[5] and the father tries to visit his son on the other side of the wall.[6][7]

Production[]

The film was shot in Tulkarm in the West Bank in 2019,[8] and it was written and directed by .[9]

Release[]

200 Meters premiered at the 77th Venice International Film Festival in September 2020.[2] It is scheduled to be shown at the El Gouna Film Festival in October 2020.[10] It was screened at 51st International Film Festival of India under ICFT UNESCO Gandhi Medal in January 2021.
