2017 Samoan o le Ao o le Malo election

Indirect elections for the o le Ao o le Malo (head of state) were held in Samoa on 5 July 2017.[1] Va'aletoa Sualauvi II was the only candidate, and was elected unopposed.[2] He had been nominated by Prime Minister Tuilaepa Aiono Sailele Malielegaoi and seconded by Palusalue Fa’apo II, the leader of the opposition.[2]
