On march 10, in the second game of Copa Libertadores group stage Boca won 3-0 Independiente Medellín. The first match of Copa de la Superliga
was a 4–1 victory over Godoy Cruz. On 17 March 2020, AFA announced the suspension of the tournament.[19]

On 28 April 2020 AFA announced the abandonment of the Copa de la Superliga and the culmination of the 2019–20 season in all of its competitions due to the COVID-19 pandemic.[20] CONMEBOL also announced the indefinite suspension of 2020 Copa Libertadores.
