A total of 22 candidates registered with the Uzo Independent National Electoral Commission to contest in the election. PDP candidate Bede Eke won the election, defeating APC Blyden Amajirionwu and 20 other party candidates. Eke received 62.21% of the votes, while Amajirionwu received 20.25%.[1]
