The 2021 season is the ongoing New Orleans Saints' 55th season in the National Football League, the 46th playing home games at Caesars Superdome and the 15th under head coach Sean Payton. They failed to win their division for the 5th consecutive year and their first division title without Drew Brees since 2000. Plus, the Saints failed to improve on their 12–4 record from last year after a loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 11.

This was the first season since 2005 without long-time quarterback Drew Brees on the roster. He announced his retirement on March 14, after playing 20 years in the league. Brees led the franchise to its first and only Super Bowl win in 2009 and also retired as the league's all-time leader in passing yards.[1][2]
