January[]
- 1 January – Israel reports, for the first time, a case of flurona, a rare mixture of coronavirus and influenza infections.[1][2]

- March – The Large Hadron Collider is planned to recommence full operations.[3] The collider was shut down in December 2018 "to enable major upgrade and renovation works."[4]
- June: Planned launch of ESA's JUICE spacecraft, which will explore Jupiter and its large ice-covered moons after a seven-year transit.[5]
- Q3: The Indian Space Research Organisation plans to launch the Chandrayaan-3 Moon mission in the third quarter of 2022 (July to September 2022).[6]
- Late September: ESA's ExoMars rover Rosalind Franklin will be launched to Mars.[7]
- August: NASA's Psyche spacecraft will be launched towards asteroid 16 Psyche.[8]
