2gether: The Series on LINE TV |
2gether: The Series (Thai: เพราะเราคู่กัน; RTGS: Phro Rao Khu Kan, lit. Because We Belong Together) is a 2020 Thai romantic comedy-drama television series starring Metawin "Win" Opas-iamkajorn and Vachirawit "Bright" Chiva-aree. An adaptation of the 2019 Thai novel of the same name by JittiRain, the series follows the story of two college boys who go from being in a fake romantic relationship to developing into a real couple.[2] Directed by Weerachit Thongjila and produced by GMMTV together with Housestories 8, the series was one of the twelve television series for 2020 showcased by GMMTV in their "New & Next" event on 15 October 2019.[3][4] It premiered on GMM 25 and LINE TV on 21 February 2020, airing on Fridays at 21:30 ICT (previously, at 22:00 ICT for the first seven episodes) and 23:00 ICT, respectively. The series concluded on 15 May 2020.[5]
Due to its immense popularity, the series is considered one of the major contributors in bringing the boys' love genre to international prominence.[6] It became the most-viewed Thai series in the said genre on several video streaming sites, including LINE TV and YouTube, after only 3 months since the airing of its final episode.[7] The success of the series then led to a 5-episode special sequel titled Still 2gether, which aired on 14 August 2020, followed by a film titled 2gether: The Movie, which will be released theatrically sometime in 2021.[8] It is also available for streaming on Netflix in some regions.[9][10]
Synopsis[]
Tine is a very handsome student and cheerleader in college, while Sarawat is one of the campus’ most popular guys and is also in the soccer and music club. When Tine is chased by Green, who he does not reciprocate feelings for — he ends up begging Sarawat to fake date with him in order to chase Green away. Somehow, just like the tale as old as time goes — pretend somehow starts to turn into reality. However, before a "happily ever after" there is the process of falling in love, and the slow realization that somehow they aren't pretending anymore. Somehow, they do not want to.
