The 5th Saturn Awards was the fifth ceremony in which media properties and personalities considered to be the best in science fiction, fantasy and horror released in the year 1977 were awarded by the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films. The ceremony was held on January 14, 1978. This was the first ceremony in which the nominees in the acting categories were more than just a single person and was also the first ceremony in which the category of Best Editing was introduced.[1]
In this ceremony Star Wars won the most awards with 13 wins, including Best Science Fiction Film, Best Writing and Best Music,[citation needed] followed by Oh, God! with two wins only, Best Fantasy Film and Best Actor, and The Little Girl Who Lives Down the Lane, with two wins also.
