Production[]

Pre-production[]

In September 2020, Adam Driver signed on to star in the film, to be produced, written and directed by Scott Beck and Bryan Woods; Sam Raimi would co-produce with Zainab Azizi and Debbie Liebling.[4][5][6][7][8] Two months later, Ariana Greenblatt joined the cast.[9] In December 2020, Chloe Coleman joined the cast.[10]

Filming[]

Filming commenced on November 16, 2020, in New Orleans.[11] Filming also occurred in the Kisatchie National Forest in Vernon Parish, Louisiana in January 2021.[12] They also filmed in Southern Oregon in January 2021, including locations in both Gold Beach and Powers.

Post-production[]

In October 2021, a leak reported details from the film, revealing that it contains dinosaurs in a similar fashion to Planet of Dinosaurs (1977), featuring a "three-legged Ankylosaurus" and a Triceratops, as well as claiming that a director's screening was held that received negative reactions from studio executives, resulting in the film being "entirely rewritten" and heavily re-edited.[13]

Music[]

In February 2021, it was announced that Danny Elfman was composing the score for the film, having previously collaborated with Raimi on his directed projects Spider-Man (2002), Spider-Man 2 (2004), Oz the Great and Powerful (2013), and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022).[14]

Release[]

The film is set to be released theatrically by April 29, 2022, by Sony Pictures Releasing.[15] The film was previously scheduled to be released on May 13, 2022, but was moved up two weeks early.[16]
