A-Mark Precious Metals -- founded in 1965 as A Mark Coin Company [1] -- is a precious metals trading company. It was the first company allowed to make and sell coins from the metals recovered in the shipwreck of SS Gairsoppa.[1] As of 2018 it was a Fortune 500 company.[4] In 2020 it fell off the Fortune 500 to the Fortune 1000[5].It offers gold, silver, platinum and palladium products for storage and delivery. This can be stored via bars, coins, grain and wafers.[6]

Greg Manning Auctions Inc. bought a majority stake in A-Mark for $16 million in 2005.[7] Thereafter, the firm changed its name to Escala Group,[8] then to Spectrum Group International Inc.[9] In 2009, it purchased the remainder of A-Mark.[1] In 2014, Spectrum spun off A-Mark so that it could be publicly traded.[1] A-Mark acquired Goldline International in 2017.
