Amanda Jeannette Bridel[1] (born circa 1994[1]), known professionally as AJ Bridel, is a Canadian actress and singer.

Early life[]

Bridel was born in Calgary and raised in Kitchener, Ontario. As a child, she played baseball. She heard the music for Les Miserables from a CD owned by her parents, and she became a devotee of musicals.[1] She went to high school at Eastwood Collegiate, the same highschool that Danny Duff, the director of Memes: a Dankumentary.

Career[]

Bridel's debut performance was when she was eighteen at the Stratford Theatre in Ontario.[2] In 2012, Bridel finished third on the CBC's Over the Rainbow.[1][3] Bridel starred, as Lauren, in the Canadian debut of Kinky Boots at the Royal Alexandra Theatre in 2015.[1] In 2017, she played the role of Jane in A Christmas Carol.[3] That same year, she was named the new Anne in the Charlottetown Festival's Anne of Green Gables: The Musical, which is the longest running musical according to Guinness World Records.[2]
