A Musical Massacre is an album by the American hip hop duo the Beatnuts.[3][4] It was released in 1999 via Loud Records.[5] It peaked at No. 35 on the Billboard 200. It contained two singles, "Se Acabo" and the Rhythmic Top 40 hit "Watch Out Now".
Entirely produced by the Beatnuts, A Musical Massacre contains guest appearances by dead prez, Biz Markie, and Common, among others.[5]
Critical reception[]
Exclaim! thought that "revenge fantasies and mic bravado only go so far from two average MCs."[6] The A.V. Club wrote: "Encompassing everything from Marvin Gaye quotations to circus organs to old-school, Too $hort-style drum patterns, the members of The Beatnuts flex their production muscles throughout A Musical Massacre."[7]
AllMusic called A Musical Massacre "among 1999's most entertaining hip-hop albums."[1]
