Abel Wantner
Abel Wantner or Wontner (c. 1639–1714) was a "citizen of Gloucester" who prepared one of the first histories of the county of Gloucestershire, the manuscript of which is part of the collection of the Bodleian Library in Oxford.[1] Although his unpublished work was criticised by later historians of Gloucestershire such as Richard Furney and Thomas Fosbroke, that did not prevent them mining it for material.[2]
