Abraham Great (born 6 November 1977) is a UK-based author, pastor, gospel artist, and speaker.[1][2]

Early life and education[]

Great was born in Lagos, Nigeria to Reverend Joshua Olukunle Akintayo and Deaconess Abigail Asani Akintayo.[3] The name ‘Great’ was given to him by his father.[4]

Great started his undergraduate education as a Chemical Engineering student at the University of Lagos. He later graduated with honours at Life Christian University in Tampa, Florida.[5] In 2019, he completed a LLB Law with Management at the University of Buckingham.[6] In 2020, he studied Service Economy at the University of Buckingham where he earned an MSc in Management Service. He is currently studying at the University of London for a Global MBA.[7]

Career[]

Great served as a World Mission Agency missionary for Living Faith Church.[3] He later founded He Lives Bible Church (HLBC) in the United Kingdom.[8]

In December 1999, Great released his debut Album titled Jesus Christ Est Vivant. He later released his second album titled Next Level in 2017.[9] He has written hit songs like the Chorus in Morilekanlorile sang by the Nigerian gospel musician, Bouqui.[10] He has collaborated with Gbemi Olaleye and Dupe Olulana to produce notable hit singles and albums. He has also worked with artists like Mike Aremu,[11] Agboola Shadare, Wole Oni, Eben and Sammie Okposo.[12]

In 2010, Great established Golden Pen LTD, a record label and a book publishing firm.[13] He is also the founder of StraightVisas, , trading as www.StraightVisas.com, an immigration consultancy firm.[14][15][16] He has been involved in advocating for more role of the church in governance and development.[17][18] He has also spoken and advised on burning issues in Nigeria and beyond.[19][20][21][22] He has written more than 13 books some of which are published Amazon.[23]

Great is an executive member of the CIAF, a social intervention Advocacy Foundation.[24] He worked closely with the current vice president of Nigeria, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, on the re-establishment ministry of ethics and moral values. This ministry was formally under Sarah Jibril.[25]

Personal life[]

In 2000, Great met Queen Great (nee Jacobs). They got married in 2004, in Lagos and the couple have four lovely boys; Darren Great, Dexter Great, Divine Great and Denzel Great.
