Abraham Rotstein

Abraham Rotstein (10 April 1929 – 27 April 2015) was a Canadian economist who was a professor of economics at the University of Toronto.[1][2] He was a fellow of Massey College. He is best known as a co-founder of the . He received his doctorate from the University of Toronto in 1967 for the thesis Fur trade and empire : an institutional analysis.[3] He was a student of Karl Polanyi.[4]

Rotstein was married for much of his life to Diane, with whom he had two children.[5] After his retirement from the University of Toronto, he came out as gay.[5]
