Adam Anthony Botana [1] is an American politician serving as a member of the Florida House of Representatives from the 76th district. He assumed office on November 3, 2020.

Early life[]

Adam was born on April 27, 1984 to Omar and Sherry Botana in Bonita Springs, Florida. He resides there currently - however, he grew up all over the country. The Botanas have been involved in the Carnival business for decades. Adam grew up traveling with his family as they followed shows and sold cinnamon rolls. As the family traveled, Adam was homeschooled rather than attending traditional high school. He later achieved his GED. He was able to gain a unique combination of education and experience in this way.

Personal Info[]

Adam has been a long-standing member of the local Rotary club in Bonita Springs. He is also an avid animal lover. His first love was a chocolate lab rescue named Bailey - affectionately known as Boat Dog Bailey. She would often come to work with Adam at Bay Water where she watch dolphins and get treats from the club members. She even made it up to the Florida State Capitol.

Career[]

As well as serving as a State Representative, Adam is the Head Boat Washer at his family's business the Bay Water Exclusive Boat Club. He has also worked in the food and beverage industry, as mentioned above. [2] Adam was elected to the Florida House of Representatives in November 2020. Adam partially campaigned on a platform of water policy. Aside from this, he made sure to ask his future constituents what they hoped to see change in the upcoming year.[3] He was sworn into office at his family's marina rather than the Florida State Capitol due to COVID-19. The marina, however, could not have been any more appropriate in demonstrating Botana's dedication to small business and clean water. After assuming office, he was assigned to the House Health & Human Services Committee and House Agriculture & Natural Resources Appropriations Subcommittee. For the 2022 legislative session, Representative Botana is also serving on the following House committees: Children, Families and Seniors Subcommittee, Finance and Facilities Subcommittee, Civil Justice and Property Rights Subcommittee, Post-Secondary and Lifelong Learning Subcommittee and the Joint Committee on Public Counsel Oversight.
