From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Afshin Naghouni (born 25 August 1969) is an Iranian-born British visual artist. Naghouni won a number of regional and national painting competitions between the ages of nine and twelve.[1]

As a child, while attempting to run from Iranian police, Naghouni fell from the seventh floor of a building. He injured his spinal cord, which left him in a wheelchair. This event is the focus of the 2014 TV documentary Out of Focus.[1]

Naghouni studied art in Tehran and London, doing his post graduate work at London Metropolitan University, in the Sir John Cass Department of Art, Media and Design.[citation needed]
