Agarathur is a village in the Kumbakonam taluk of Thanjavur district, Tamil Nadu.

Agarthur is a village near by Kumbakonam,it is Thanjavur district.it is a agriculture village,it has famous mahasakthi mariyamman temple in South Street of agarathur. This village people are mostly agriculture worker,and lot of engineer there, village has four street and 700 people,village total areas 30 arecs.two types of people there are padaiyachi and parayar.village temples are mariyamman,murugan, pillaiyar,muniswarar,ayyanar, pidariamman,sivan and perumal.it has two pool,its called tamil in kilakolam and melakolam.temple ceremony yearly once happen,it is a famous temple ceremony of surrounded 10 village,ceremony types are palkudam,kaavadi,annathanam,sedalthiruvila,maavilakku,arichandhiranadakam,Amman roam of four street 8 days night,and last day fullnight roaming with some kacheri like kuravan kurathi,dhenampettai thappu, etc,.
