Ajay Kumar Chaurasia (Nepali: अजय कुमार चौरसिया) is a Nepalese politician who served as the Asst. Minister in Ministry of Federal Affairs and local Development of Nepal from 2001-2002.

He is currently a central committee member of Nepali Congress Party and also Chief of Terai-Madhesh coordination Department .Born and raised in amarpatti in parsa, completed his primary and secondary and higher education from motihari, Bihar .

He is a multifaceted politician who is well respected not only by the electorate in his constituency but in the whole terai region. He is representative to the Pratinidhi Sabha in the Nepalese legislative election on behalf of the Nepali Congress. He has been Member of Parliament from Nepali Congress 1999, 2006, 2007. He is representative from the Parsa District, Constituency 2, Birgunj Nepal.[1][2]

In 2001 he was appointed as an asst. Minister of Federal Affairs and local Development of Nepal in the cabinet of Sher Bahadur Deuba. Actively took part in people's Movement (janandolan 2) and was arrested several times during janandolan 2 and was also in prison for more than 4 months. Chaurasia was elected twice as member to the constituent Assembly from Parsa 3 and parsa 2 of Parsa District
