Akmenė Free Economic Zone is a special economic zone located in Akmenė, Lithuania. It is 98.6 ha area,[1] which was established in 2012.[2]

Vakaru Medienos Grupe (VMG), one of the largest wood and furniture groups in the Baltics, is set to invest 140 million euros in the northern Lithuanian district of Akmene, with plans to build a new particle board factory in 2020, the district's mayor said.
