Akoin (AKN) is a cryptocurrency developed by Senegalese-American R&B singer Akon. Akon is the co-founder and chairman of Akoin along with Jon Karas and Lynn Lisa. [1][2]

On April 2, 2021, Akon met with Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni and announced plans to develop a utopian city to be built in Uganda called Akon City. The $6 billion city that Akon proposes is described as a "real-life Wakanda".[3][4]
