Al Panlilio

Alfredo "Al" S. Panlilio is a Filipino businessman. He is the current president and chief executive officer of PLDT[1] and also its wireless subsidiary, Smart Communications (with a position as chief revenue officer).[2] He is also the current senior vice president and head of customer retail services, corporate marketing and communications of the Manila Electric Company (Meralco),[3][4] team governor of the Meralco Bolts basketball team of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA),[5] and a president of the MVP Sports Foundation.[4]

He was elected as the new president of the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP), on its election for its new set of board of directors of the basketball national sports association on August 8, 2016. He replaced Manuel V. Pangilinan, who served as the president since it was formed in 2007 and was recognized by the FIBA as the solely recognized governing body for basketball in the Philippines, replacing the Basketball Association of the Philippines (BAP).[6][7]
