Aleksandr “Sania” Sorokin (born 30 September 1981)[1][better source needed][2] is a Lithuanian ultramarathon runner holding multiple world and European records over long distance running events.[3] As of January 2022, Sorokin held the records for greatest distances covered in 24 hours [309.4 kilometres (192.3 miles)][4] and in 12 hours [177.4 kilometres (110.2 miles)],[5] and for the fastest time for 100 miles (10 hours, 51 minutes, 39 seconds), in some cases having broken his own earlier records in subsequent runs.[6] Sorokin won the 2019 IAU 24 Hour World Championship and 2017 Spartathlon.
