Alistipes is a genus in the phylum Bacteroidetes (Bacteria).[1]

Etymology[]

The name Alistipes derives from:
Latin adjective alius, other; Latin masculine gender noun stipes, a log, stock, post, trunk of a tree, stick; New Latin masculine gender noun alistipes, the other stick.[2]
