Allied American University (AAU) was a for-profit university located in Laguna Hills, California, that offers online learning degree and certificate programs. Allied American University was founded in 2008 and received national accreditation by the Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC) in that same year. The university offered bachelor's and associate degree programs in business administration, criminal justice, general studies, and allied health. Allied American University offers seven undergraduate degree programs and 10 certificate programs for career or skill enhancement.

G.I. Jobs magazine had ranked Allied American University as one of the top Military Friendly Schools, along with other top-tier universities, trade schools, and colleges across the country.[1] Allied American University was also named a Top School in Military Advanced Education's Guide to Colleges and Universities for three consecutive years.[2]

History[]

Allied American University was the higher education division of Allied Business Schools, Inc. (also known as Allied Schools). Allied Schools is a pioneer of online distance learning education, serving the distance education market since 1992 and online learning since 1996.

From 2008 to 2016, AAU provided education programs for in-demand careers, preparing AAU graduates to be competitive in the employment market. The classroom student-to-teacher ratios were kept small (approximately 10:1) to provide a more focused and effective learning environment.

Accreditation[]

Allied American University was nationally accredited by the Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC). DEAC is listed as a nationally recognized accrediting agency under the U.S. Department of Education.

AAU was licensed to operate by the Bureau of Private Postsecondary Education (BPPE).

As of March 11, 2013 Allied American University was recognized as a Candidate for Accreditation by the Accrediting Commission for Senior Colleges and Universities of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).

With the closure of the school on December 31st 2016, all accreditation, candidacy for accreditation, and licensure were invalidated. [3] [4]
