Alphablocks is a British computer-animated children's television series that is designed to teach children to spell with the use of animated blocks representing each letter. It is animated by Blue-Zoo and produced by Alphablocks Ltd.[1] Once the Alphablocks discover that whenever they make a word it comes to life, many new adventures in Alphaland can be created. This is meant to help preschool children with learning the alphabet, spelling, reading and writing.

About[]

Alphablocks is a CBeebies show that is related to Numberblocks, both of which are animated by Blue Zoo Productions.

Unlike Numberblocks, Alphablocks stars eponymous blocks with letters of the alphabet. When the Alphablocks hold hands to make a word, it magically appears.

Alphablocks' main episodes first went on air from January 25, 2010 to July 2, 2013, while the specials first aired from October 16, 2021 to October 30, 2021. You can still watch reruns on CBeebies.

Numberblocks[]

On 23 January 2017 Numberblocks debuted on CBeebies. This new show takes on a similar approach to Alphablocks, though with numbers instead of the letters of the alphabet. Like Alphablocks, It is also animated by Blue-Zoo.[2]

Alphablocks: Word Magic[]

Alphablocks: Word Magic is a spin-off of Alphablocks.

Alphablocks: Word Magic is a series of 26 short episodes published all at the same time on BBC iPlayer in 2020, making the Alphablocks return after 7 years of no episodes, although these episodes tend to recap all of the letters from A-Z.

Each and every episode will begin with the letter doing something, with the narrator describing it. After that, three words will be spelled with that letter, and a little scene will play that has something to do with that word. After the words, the same Alphablock animation will play a second time. There are 26 episodes, one for each letter in the alphabet.

The episodes last for 1–3 minutes, making some of them the shortest Learningblocks episodes in history.
