Alvamaja is a monotypic genus of flies, containing only the spcies Alvamaja chlorometallica.^[1] Although originally placed in the family Rhinophoridae, it belongs to the family Polleniidae.^[2]

This species is found in Europe (Romania, Serbia).^[3]
