Amanmyrat Hallyev

Amanmyrat Hallyev is a lawyer and former Prosecutor General of Turkmenistan.

Career[]

In July 2006, Hallyev was appointed as a state prosecutor for Mary Region; earlier, he was a prosecutor for the Bereket District of Balkan Region.[1]

On 31 August 2013, Hallyev was decreed as the Prosecutor General by President Berdimuhamedow; he replaced Yaranmurad Yazmuradov, who was removed from office on grounds of inefficiency and facilitation of drugs trade.[2][3] After a tenure of about three years, on 4 May 2017, Hallyev was removed for failing to prevent bribery in prosecutorial services, and Batyr Atdaev was declared to be the new Prosecutor General.[4][5]

On 12 May, Hallyev was detained along with other employees.[6]
