The American Presbyterian Church is a Presbyterian denomination in the United States. It was formed in 1979[1] by five ministers who separated from the Bible Presbyterian Church (BPC) when it dissolved the BPC Philadelphia Presbytery. Three congregations were established. These churches are premillennialist,[2] and demand of their members abstinence from alcohol. In worship they sing psalms only. They accept the Westminster Confession of Faith and the Heidelberg Catechism.[3][1] The denomination currently consists of two congregations, in Bordentown, New Jersey, and Westminster, Maryland.[4]
