Amin Salam (Arabic) أمين سلام is the Minister of Economy and Trade[1][2] chosen by Najib Mikati.

Newly appointed Minister of Economy and Trade for the Republic of Lebanon. Amin Salam is an Executive with 20+ years of international business development and legal experience. Amin Salam is a seasoned executive and international advisor with experience in economic and social development, management, strategic leadership, advocacy, government relations, communications, public affairs, public policy, and coalitions building. Successful career with major global corporations, driving international business development at the highest level – creating and managing an international footprint covering 50+ countries, with focus on post-conflict regions.

Extensive involvement in leading external affairs and practicing business diplomacy with government entities, public officials, and international organizations — Amin has a passion for business growth. He drove expansion into global markets for major fortune 500 companies including technology, defense, aviation, energy, telecommunications, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, and major infrastructure projects.

As Senior Managing Director at Ankura Global Consulting Group Salam advised on global infrastructure projects, trade, FDI and managed the global operations of the firm with focus on international market growth.

As Vice President of the National US-Arab Chamber of Commerce, Amin served as the primary liaison between the US and the 22 countries of Middle East and North Africa (MENA) in advising high level officials in the public and private sectors on issues of trade, investment, security, and foreign affairs. In this capacity, he expanded MENA market share, improved overall cost savings, and promoted sustainable bilateral business relationships for major corporations. Prior to this, Amin was appointed by the Maryland State Governor to serve as Senior Economic and Policy Advisor for the Maryland Commission for Middle Eastern American Affairs. Amin served as an International Legal Counsel for Sherman & Sterling LLP based in New York where he advised clients on structuring business transactions with Sovereign Wealth Funds,conducted due diligence on legal disputes involving major oil and gas companies in the MENA region.
