Ammoor is a town panchayat in Ranipet district and it is part of Ranipet metropolitan area in the state of Tamil Nadu, India.

Ammoor is famous for its railway station which is named as 'Walaja Road Railway Station', opened by the British Government around 1856 C.E. We can also look at some of the emerging entertainers in the Town Panchayat. The town getting modernised with the supermarket, wedding halls, international schools, popular hospitals, banks, youth associations, Youtube Channels (Viewer's Den), and TV channels like Amma Cable Network. And the place Kalathu Medu is famous during any occasions of the town. The government schools in the town witnessed the presence of the National Leaders like Kamarajar.

As of 2001 India census,[1] Ammoor had a population of 11,296. Males constitute 50% of the population and females 50%. Ammoor has an average literacy rate of 66%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with 59% of the males and 41% of females literate. 12% of the population is under 6 years of age.
