Amritha Aiyer (born 14 May 1994) is an Indian actress who predominantly appears in Tamil and Telugu language films.[2] She made her acting debut with Tamil film Padaiveeran (2018), and Telugu debut with Red (2021).[3]

Early life[]

Aiyer was born in Bengaluru, Karnataka and received a Bachelor of Commerce degree from St. Joseph's College of Commerce. She then became a model.[4]

Career[]

Aiyer has appeared in few uncredited roles in Lingaa, Tenaliraman, Pokkiri Raja and Theri.

Aiyer made her debut as lead actress with Padaiveeran (2018), where she played the role of Malar. In response to her role, a reviewer of the film from The Hindu stated that "Amritha fits in her role aptly".[5] She later played one of the female leads opposite Vijay Antony in Kaali (2018).[6] She played a role of Thendral, the Tamil Nadu football team captain in Atlee's Bigil (2019).[7] Aiyer is set to make her Kannada debut alongside Vinay Rajkumar in Gramayana.[8]

In 2021, Aiyer made her Telugu debut with Red (2021), opposite Ram Pothineni, directed by Kishore Tirumala.,[9] her second release was Vanakkam Da Mappilei opposite G. V. Prakash Kumar, the film released on Sun NXT, by Direct OTT release,[10] and makes mixed to negative reviews. Her third release was lift (2021), opposite Kavin, the film opt a theatrical release, and released directly via Disney+Hotstar.[11] The film makes a mixed reviews and high positive reviews from the critics.[12]

As of 2022, Aiyer is currently shooting for her upcoming Telugu film Hanuman[13], she also signed a film to appeare as female lead with director Sundar C.'s untitled film starring Jiiva, Jai and Srikanth.[14]
