Anaimalai declared as a new Taluk from 25 October 2018. There are around 31 Villages has been part of Anaimalai.

Daily wages and bargaining power is the main occupation in Anaimalai. Paddy, Banana, Sugarcane and others are the main cultivation done here. Anaimalai is a pilgrimage spot, due to the presence of powerful goddess Maasani Amman.

Geography[]

Anaimalai is located at It has an average elevation of 25 meters Above MSL. As it's close to Kerala, it slightly receives both Southwest and Northeast monsoon through the year.

As per the Population Census 2011, there are total 4,933 families residing in the Anaimalai city. The total population of Anaimalai is 17,208 out of which 8,279 are males and 8,929 are females thus the Average Sex Ratio of Anaimalai is 1,079.

As per the Census 2011, the literacy rate of Anaimalai is 78.9%. Thus Anaimalai has lower literacy rate compared to 84% of Coimbatore district. The male literacy rate is 85.59% and the female literacy rate is 72.67% in Anaimalai.

Anaimalai is well known for its hot and humid weather all over the year. The Uppar River run through it and it's a drainage made by anamalai city people. Masaniamman Temple, Perumal Swamy Temple, Someswaran Temple, Saibaba Temple, Azhukku Swamy Siddhar Temple & Deivakulam Kaaliamman Temple are famous Temples around the area.
