Anchimolius

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Anchimolius was an ancient Spartan, son of a certain Aster.[1]

The ancient historian Herodotus stated the Lacedaemonians entrusted him with expelling the sons of Peisistratus, the Peisistratidae, by the use of an army. On the execution of his command, Anchimolius was met with an allied force of Thessalians and Pisistratidae and was subsequently killed.[1]

Anchimolius was interred at Alopece in Attica.[1]
