Andrew Jackson White III (born June 16, 1993) is an American basketball player for Büyükçekmece Basketbol of the Turkish Basketbol Süper Ligi (BSL). He played in college for Kansas, Nebraska, and Syracuse.

College career[]

White began his collegiate career at Kansas and played his first two years there. He transferred to Nebraska and sat out a season. In his redshirt junior year, he averaged 16.6 points and 5.9 rebounds per game for the Cornhuskers, shooting 41.2 percent from behind the arc.[1]

After graduating, White played a postgrad year for the Syracuse Orange, leading the team in scoring with 18.5 points per game. He made a school-high 112 three-pointers that season, breaking Gerry McNamara's record of 107.[2] White was named to the Third Team All-ACC.[3]

Professional career[]

Maine Red Claws (2017–2018)[]

After going undrafted in the 2017 NBA draft, White played in the Summer League with the Cleveland Cavaliers. In August 2017, he signed a partially guaranteed contract with the Boston Celtics.[2] However, he was released by the Celtics on October 12.[4] White signed with the Celtics' G-League affiliate the Maine Red Claws and scored 37 points in his debut.[5]

Atlanta Hawks (2018)[]

On January 15, 2018, White signed a two-way contract with the Atlanta Hawks. Throughout the rest of the season, his playing time would be split between the Hawks and their NBA G League affiliate, the Erie BayHawks.

On February 14, 2018, White made his official NBA debut, scoring 15 points in only 17 minutes off the bench for the Hawks.

Second Tenure with Red Claws (2018–2019)[]

On August 2, 2018, Afyon Belediye S.K. of the Basketbol Süper Ligi announced to have signed with White.[6]

On October 26, 2018, the Red Claws announced that White would begin his second tenure with the team as a Returning Player.[7]

On July 2, 2019, White was included in the New York Knicks' roster for 2019 NBA Summer League.[8] On August 29, 2019, the Westchester Knicks announced that they had acquired the returning right for White from the Maine Red Claws for the returning right to Billy Garrett Jr. and a 2019 NBA G League Draft second round pick.[9]

Westchester Knicks (2019–2021)[]

On October 29, 2019, White signed with the Westchester Knicks.[10] On November 13, 2019, White recorded a season-high 39 points to go along with 7 assists and 9 3-pointers made in a 116-109 win over the Greensboro Swarm.[11] He averaged 12.0 points and 4.1 rebounds per game for the Knicks.[12]

On December 12, 2020, White was signed to a training camp contract by the New York Knicks,[13] and then waived the same day.[14][15] He rejoined the Westchester Knicks and averaged 5.2 points and 2.5 rebounds per game.[16]

Büyükçekmece Basketbol (2021–present)[]

On July 26, 2021, White signed with Büyükçekmece Basketbol of the Basketbol Süper Ligi.[16]
