Aparna Rajeev (born 8 February 1986) is an Indian playback and gazhal singer who is predominantly working in Malayalam film Industry known for the songs Punnelin Kathirola from the film Nothing but Life and Manjuthara from Mizhikal Sakshi.[1] She is the grand daughter of the late Malayalam poet O.N.V Kurup.[2][3][4]
Personal life[]
Aparna was born on 8 February 1986 at Kochi, Kerala to Mr. Rajeev ONV, an Indian music composer, and Mrs. Devika Rajeev.[5] She is married to Mr. Siddarth Premkumar and they have two children.[6]
Career[]
Aparna Rajeev had been involved in school youth festivals and other cultural competitions since she was six years old. She was a finalist in Asianet's first music reality programme, Voice of the Week.[7] Then she anchored Ma Ga Ri Sa, a children music quiz in Asianet (TV channel), and Gandharva Sangeetham, a musical reality show in Kairali TV.
Aparna Rajeev made her debut as a playback vocalist in the film "Made in USA" in 2005, under the direction of Shri. Vidyasagar. She did her first Ghazal concert at the Soorya Festival in 2016.[8] In 2009, her song 'Manjutharasree,' composed by Shri. V. Dakshinamoorthy for the film 'Mizhikal Sakshi,' won her the Film Critics award for best playback singer, the World Malayalee Council award, and Filmfare award.
