The Apostolic Administration of Atyrau is Latin pre-diocesan Roman Catholic missionary jurisdiction in Kazakhstan.

It has its episcopal see in the Cathedral of the Transfiguration of Our Lord, in Atyrau. It is not exempt, but a suffragan of the metropolitan Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Mary Most Holy in Astana. Several of its ordinaries were promoted to the episcopate in the former Soviet republic's ecclesiastical province, notably at the suffragan see of Karaganda.

History[]

    • stayed on as Apostolic Administrator ad nutum Sanctae Sedis of Atyrau (Kazakhstan) (2011.02.05 – 2012.12.07) while elevated to the see of Karaganda, then went on solely as Bishop of Karaganda
