Archita Sahu is an Indian actress who works in Odia language films. She played the leading female role in several hit Odia films like Babu I Love You, Mu Eka Tumara, Chocolate and Akashe Ki Ranga Lagila. She is also a successful model.[2] She was the first runner up in Pond's Femina Miss India Kolkata in 2013 and won Lakme Absolute Femina Miss Eyeconic Eyes.[3] She also won Miss Talented and Miss Stylish Hair titles.

Before being an actress, she was a classical dancer.[4] Sahu is a trained Odissi dancer who started learning Odissi dance when she was six years old. She has completed Visharad in Odissi from Akhil Bharat Mahavidyalaya.[5]

Biography[]

Sahu was born in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. She completed her schooling from and BTech graduation from KIIT University.[6] She is also an Odissi dancer who has won a National Scholarship in Odissi dance.[7] In 2004, she was crowned Miss Kalinga.[8] Her first Odia film is O My Love, which was released in 2005.[9] She has many superhits and 100-day blockbusters.[10] She is now adjudged as the top actress in Odia film industry. Besides acting, she is involved in modelling and social work. She has received the Best Newcomer and Best Actress awards for her celluloid performances. Her pairing with Sabyasachi has been quite successful. She is the only actress in Odia film industry to bag State Film Award as Best Actress for three times, awarded by Govt of Odisha.[11][12][13][14] She is presently the Odisha State Ambassador of UNICEF and Govt. of Odisha for "Eradication of child labour".[15][16] She is also the ambassador of Junior Red Cross.[17] She was the only Odia actress to be a part of IPL 5 as the brand ambassador of Deccan Chargers.[18][19][20] She is the first runner-up of the Femina Miss India, Kolkata.[21] She represented Odisha in the Miss India 2013 pageant. She has won Miss Talented and Miss Stylish Hair titles in the finale. She has performed in many grand events for different occasions including the grand opening ceremony of Hockey India League for two years.

On 1 March 2021, Sahu married actor Sabyasachi Mishra.[22]
