Auburn Community Hospital

Auburn Community Hospital[1][2][3] is a 99-bed acute-care medical facility in upstate New York.[4] The hospital hosts a VA community-based outpatient clinic.[5]

History[]

In 2017 the 1878-founded hospital[6] signed an agreement with St. Joseph's Hospital (Syracuse, NY) and the University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC) which let them share services while each maintaining their own identity and independence:[7][8] This includes retaining the name Auburn Community Hospital (ACH),[9] which had been changed in 1953 from Auburn City Hospital to Auburn Memorial Hospital, and to Auburn Community Hospital in 2012.[6]

Auburn also operates a nursing home.[8]

Controversy[]

Oversight hearings found the overlooking of warning signs where inappropriate situations,[10][11] including patient death,[12] might have been prevented.[13][14]
