Aurat Foundation

Aurat Foundation, founded in 1986, is a women's rights organization based in Islamabad, Pakistan. Its co-founders were Nigar Ahmed and Shahla Zia.[1] Aurat Foundation lobbies and advocates for women. It also holds demonstrations and public awareness campaigns.

Aurat Foundation is based in Islamabad, with four regional offices in the provincial capitals (Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar and Quetta). Further, AF has a countrywide network of voluntary citizens' groups and individual activists. These groups include Citizens Action Committees, Resource Groups and Aurat Foundation Resource Centres and Information Network Centres.[2]
