Development[]

Bachchan Pandey was initially supposed to a remake of Veeram but the makers altered the script to come up with an original idea.[13] Later sources, however, report that Bachchan Pandey is a remake of the Tamil film Jigarthanda.[3][4]

Filming[]

Principal photography commenced on 6 January 2021 in Jaisalmer.[14][15][16]

Release[]

Bachchan Pandey was earlier scheduled to release on 25 December 2020,[17] but was changed to 22 January 2021,[18] Aamir Khan had asked Kumar to change the release date.[19] Due to COVID-19 pandemic, the shooting was delayed,[20] but filming has started on 6 January.[21] and was wrapped up in July 2021.[22] The film is scheduled to release theatrically on 18 March 2022.[2]
