BIS educates roughly 200 students on a 1.2 hectare campus just north of the city center. The school offers classes from pre-school to Grade 12. The language of instruction is English.

BIS is an IB School (International Baccalaureate) and offers the IB Diploma Programme in High School and the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) for students aged 3 –11 years. BIS was authorized by the IBO to run the PYP in 2004.[1]

BIS is accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS) based in the Neatherlands; the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC), based in United States, and authorized by the International Baccalaureate Organization in Geneva, Switzerland to offer the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) in the Elementary School from Early Childhood to Grade 5 and the IB Diploma Programme in Grades 11 and 12.

Infrastructure[]

The school opened its current campus in 1993, located on Jalan Surya Sumantri, about 2 kilometers (or a 10-minute drive) from the city centre. The campus has 48 classrooms with semi-private teacher's offices and storage facilities. There is a computer lab, a Maker Space, two science labs, demonstration rooms, a media centre, two covered courts, soccer field, and a swimming pool.

The present campus occupies a site of 50,000 sq. meters. Facilities include two playgrounds, and a multi-purpose hall that includes a stage, climbing wall, and aerobics room.

Sports[]

The school has teams in soccer, basketball, badminton, cross-country, and swimming and is an active participant of the Indonesian International Small Schools Activities Conference (IISSAC).
