Bangabandhu is an upcoming Bangladeshi-Indian Bengali-language biographical film directed by Shyam Benegal. It stars Arifin Shuvoo as Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the first President of Bangladesh popularly known as Bangabandhu (lit. 'friend of Bengal'), who lead his country to independence.[1][2][3][4]

Production[]
The film was scheduled to start production on March 18, 2020, a day after the birth centenary of Bangabandhu.[14] But the COVID-19 pandemic delayed it.
The shooting of the film started on January 21, 2021, in Film City Mumbai, India.[15][16][1] The filmmakers stated the film production is anticipated to end in March 2022.[17][18]
