Barot House is a 2019 Bollywood Psychological thriller film about an upper middle-class Indian family caught in the whirlwind of murder and crime.[1] The film was released through Zee5 on 7 August 2019.[2]
Plot[]
Amit Barot, the patriarch of the Barot House, lives in a serene neighbourhood in Daman with his family consisting of his wife, mother, and 4 children – a son and 3 daughters – with a fifth child on the way.
Suddenly, on Diwali, one of the daughters, Shreya, goes missing while playing hide and seek. After one day, her body is found at a graveyard. Soon after, the family and their neighbours become plagued with more ill-fate as multiple killings start taking place in and around the Barot House. Everyone becomes a suspect and no-one can tell the guilty from the innocent.
Trapped in the middle of thinking bloodfest, Amit and Bhavana's relationship becomes strained. Amit's equation with his son Malhar takes a drastic turn. Amit changes from a loving parent to a violent one, often suspecting his 9 year old son to be the culprit behind all the killings, and makes a few failed attempt to kill the boy as punishment.
Finally, Amit had to call the police for arresting his son. He was admitted to the juvenile home. A psychologist questioned him to find the fact and failed. They found scars on the boys back, and when given a piece of paper he draw a picture of his father. The psychologist believes that his father is the killer. Police arrest Amit and his son is released. Amit tries to attack the boy, and because of this the police think he did all the killings. Amit's wife also does not believe him. Now, they have a little daughter, whom the boy once tried to kill by drowning. Amit was the saviour that day. The boy carries the little girl and walks to the well. His mom watches him from the upstairs and screamed for the little one, but he threw her into the well. The boy gives a scary psycho smile to his grieving mother in shock as the movie ends.
